Made circa 1863 by Burnside Rifle Co in Providence RI, for the Union cavalry. Inspector letter stamps throughout. Matching serials. 21″ barrel with blade front sight and flip up rear. Factory saddle bar and ring are present. Original blued/case color finishes. Oiled wood stock. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with mixed gray/brown patina. Wood has handling marks. scrapes and scratches. Bore is frosted, with minor pitting and good overall rifling. Tight hammer. Nipple is clean. Antique, no FFL required in most places.
