Full Description

Made 1880 in German and later surplussed to Uruguay in the 1880s. Uruguay then paid the French arsenal/firm of St. Denis, to upgrade them, using the Daudeteau system. No import marks. Matching serials on the receiver and bolt/bolt components. Imperial German proofs are still present.  31-1/2″ barrel with standard sights. Natural brown patina finish throughout. Wood has a light oil finish. Includes attached original clearing rod (much like a French Lebel/Berthiers). CONDITION: Metal is a consistent brown patina throughout. Some patches of light surface rust on the barrel, receiver, bolt and butt plate as well. Wood has impressions, scrapes and scratches. Bore is shiny, with strong rifling. The front band is not correct, and is loose. Antique, no FFL required in most places.
