Made 1874 by Steyr for the Imperial German military. Imperial German proofs throughout. No import marks found. Matching seals. throughout, minus the front sling swivel screw and butt plate. 33-3/4″ barrel with blade front sight and sliding rear ladder. Metal is still correctly in the white. Wood has been lightly sanded/oiled. Original clearing rod. CONDITION: Metal is very good overall, with light brown patina forming in some areas. A previous owners name is etched into the trigger guard. Wood has minor impressions, scrapes and dents. Bore is lightly frosted near the muzzle, remaining clean near the chamber. Good overall rifling. Fairly scarce in unaltered condition, with most being updated to 71/84 status. Antique, no FFL required in most areas.
