Made 1938 and typically sold to NRA members for use in the National Matches. Springfield barrel is dated “5-38” under a flaming bomb. Barrel is star gauged at the muzzle. “NS” marked, nickel steel, bolt. 24″ barrel with blade front sight. Factory installed Lyman adjustable peep sight (aperture is absent). Original blued finish and oiled wood stock, with checkered metal butt plate for match use. Attached brown leather sling is marked “G.&K./1918” marked leather sling. CONDITION: Metal is excellent overall, with light edge wear. Wood has minor impressions and scratches. Bore is bright, with strong rifling. Sling has light wear, and vedigris around the brass buckles. A rare rifle for your collection! C&R eligible.
