Made circa 1950s. This gun is not a Syrian contract gun, like most MAS-49s seen in the United States. This is a French military gun, that was arsenal refurbished in 1966, as marked on the left side of the receiver. Import marked on the left side of the receiver. Matching serials on the receiver and dust cover. Others are mixed. 23″ barrel with original sights and grenade sight. Arsenal parkerized finish and oiled wood stock. Includes original French leather sling. CONDITION: Metal is excellent overall. Wood has minor impressions and scrapes. Bore is bright, with strong rifling. Sling is excellent. C&R eligible.
