Made 1870S. These “M.14” updated rifles were normal Gras MLE 1874/M80 rifles that were updated to fire 8MM Lebel and pushed into service during WW1. No import marks. Mismatched serials, but the bolt/bolt components match the stock. Blade front sight and rear ladder. Arsenal blued finish. Wood has been lightly sanded and oiled. “Holy Water” plug has been filled in. Stock is duffel cut at the rear band as well. Metal butt plate has rack number “53” on it. No clearing rod, which is how these are usually found. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with honest wear. Few freckles of surface rust on the barrel. Wood is excellent overall. Bore is clean overall, with strong rifling. Antique, no FFL required in most areas.
