Made 1965 at Arsenal 26. The brass plaque on the right side of the stock states “CAPTURED/REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM/NOV.1968/CPT.W.P.DEILE”. Matching serials throughout the numbered parts. 20-1/2″ barrel with original sights. Original blued finish. Wood has a field applied lacquer. Original spike bayonet. No cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with natural wear. Some light brown patina forming in some areas. The barrel has some battle damage on the underside (looks like from a grenade blast/shrapnel). Wood has impressions, dents and scrapes. Bore is bright. Rifling is very strong near the chamber, becoming very worn near the muzzle. C&R eligible.
